Liability Insurance Supplement/Extended Protection (LIS/EP)
In many countries it is a legal requirement that car insurance must include unlimited Third Party cover. In the USA this
is not the case. Each state establishes a minimum level of cover required by law and this maybe as low as US$5000.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (LIS) or Extended Protection (EP) is included in our Fully Inclusive and ‘Select’
prices. LIS covers you for liability to third parties for bodily injuries and property damage only (not rental vehicle),
resulting from an auto accident in the rented vehicle, to the maximum total protection of US$1million for each occurrence.
Under EP cover, your third party protection increases to US$1 million and also provides coverage up to US$1 million to the
driver and passengers in the rental vehicle against death or injury caused by the driver of another vehicle who is under
insured, uninsured or who commits a hit & run offence (Under-Insured Motorist Protection - UMP).
